chiron_survivor: (not sure about that)

Adia consciously tones down the smile on her face, tempering it with concern. New home or not, Amelia has clearly been putting far too much pressure on herself to get her act together. So instead of jumping in to help, she stays put, hands absently tugging at the hem of her sweater, listening silently while the rogue gathers her wits and explains her troubles with the new apartment.

"Oh... Amelia, it's hard to keep a home, trust me. My first apartment was a disaster until I put myself on a cleaning schedule. And that was when I was essentially dealing with the same appliances and materials that I grew up with. New technology has a steep learning curve." She waves a hand in the general direction of the kitchen. "Heck, even old technology has a steep learning curve. We have a wood-burning stove in our cabin and I can't tell you the number of times I ruined a meal by over- or under-cooking it."

No, it's not easy to keep one's home clean. Adia is lucky to have Caspar's help (and obsession with cleanliness) to keep their cabin neat as a pin, but she's not about to mention that to Amelia, who is trying to make it on her own. "Um... can I show you how to use some of your appliances? You'd save some time by not washing everything by hand..."
