Adia's praise makes her cheeks flush a light pink of embarrassment. It's wonderful to hear the kind words, but Amelia has no idea how to respond right now. Instead of trying, she grabs on to the question about where to start in her apartment.
"I'm not sure," she says honestly. "With the kitchen, I guess? I've made quite the mess of it these last few days and I've yet to figure out how to clean any of my dishes beyond rinsing them." A beat, and she huffs a nervous laugh. "I'm more impressed with my mother than I ever thought possible. How she managed to raise four children and keep the house with minimal help from any of us and none of the technology available here in the Nexus amazes me more than I explain." She always respected her mother and was grateful to her, but living alone has given Amelia a whole new appreciation for the woman who raised her.
