Falling asleep would not have been the worst possible outcome here, but Verity's glad that didn't happen.

"When you get back home," Verity corrects quietly. "The first step is admitting that you need help. Not just out loud. You need to understand that this cannot continue deep in your soul. Then we'll find you some good doctors. The work you're going to do is going to be hard. It's going to hurt sometimes, and there will be sacrifices. You might even get worse before you get better.
