"I wouldn't imagine many people could afford to do it," she agrees with a faint smirk. "There was a time in my world when people used jewels as buttons, and to decorate their clothing. They'd wear the outfit once or twice, then cut off the gems to use them again on another dress." Such wasteful decadence. She, too, prefers to be careful with her money when she can be.
