Apologies are not something that come easily for Amelia, especially when they're deserved. True, she's only managed one true apology when several are needed, but she finds waiting for resolution after the fact to be even worse.

She hardly goes out anymore. The Fox and Crosier has all the essentials for living, so her only reason for visiting the Commercial District or the Forum is pure curiosity, but even that's in short supply these days. The weight of her actions, of the consequences of a poorly made decision, rest heavily on her. Most hours of the day are spent in the yew tree outside her window, trying to figure what to do next, debating if it's worth going out into public.

On yet another warm and pleasant afternoon, it's in those tree branches that Amelia finds herself. Dressed in the clothes of Verity's world, her hair down, her hair pin being turned over slowly in her hands. She looks as terrible as she feels, but as no one comes to see her here, she doesn't really care.

Someday, she's going to be embarrassed about her current appearance, especially the fact that her hair is full of leaves from the tree.

The morning after that shot from Samus had Amelia feeling a bit like hell. Breakfast helped, but the nap for the next several hours after helped more. It's surprising, the wonders a good rest will do for the body. No wonder Amelia always feels a little like hell these days.

It's a little after midday when Amelia finally gets herself fully ready for going out. Not for the Nexus, though, for the streets of New York City. No, today is a jeans, long sleeve navy colored shirt, and boots kind of day. Her hair pin is carefully locked away in a small box that she hides beneath the floorboards under her bed and the key tied to a high branch in the yew tree outside of her window. A paranoid gesture, perhaps, but it makes her feel a little better.

If breakfast and a nap helped her this much through the after effects of the inoculation, she feels like a snack on her way to Verity's world will be more than enough to help get her through the day. There's almost a spring in her step as she saunters down the stairs and out onto the streets of the Commercial District on her way toward the Stellar Harp. She figures she can pick up some coffee and pastries for Samus and Verity along the way - and eat or drink whatever ends up not being claimed by the person it was meant for.

Finding someone in the Nexus is a much more difficult task than would be expected, given the amount of technology available for such things. For someone coming from a less advanced world, though, it becomes a game of patience. Everyone comes to the Forum at some point or another, making it the best place to wait.

Perched above the general crowds on one of the shorter buildings of the Forum, Amelia watches the crowds that pass by on their way to and from whatever their destination might be. It's a game of patience, leaving her time to look over the half dozen or so files she has with her as she waits for one specific person to make their way across the busy street.

Once Verity appears, Amelia packs the files into her leather messenger bag and shimmies down the drain pipe of the building she'd perched herself on. She approaches cautiously, giving Verity a quick tap on the shoulder as soon as she was close enough. When she's sure she has Verity's attention, she nods in way of greeting.

"I need to speak to you. In private. Do you have some time?"

Verity can be assured that this will not be a short conversation.
