[Amelia's device is ready for messages. Send away as you will.
Upon reaching her inbox, there's a long pause. And then, when the caller might think this is some prank or the inbox is improperly set up, a soft voice speaks:]
"Leave your message. We'll speak later."

It's been months since Amelia realized her feelings and began working through them with her therapist. Months of self-doubt and worry. Months of sorting through the advice she'd received and making plans. Now, finally, she felt ready to say something about them. Or, at least, ready enough.
( She wasn't sure how this would go, but it was finally time she tried. )

The revelation of my feelings for Thor brought on a lot of things I wasn't ready for. I went to the Nexus at large for help, and many people gave me good advice or encouragement. It wasn't enough to act on, though. How could it be? I didn't know what I wanted when I asked for advice.
( I brought it to my therapist to talk about instead of processing on my own. )

Should I have seen this coming? Was it really so obvious to everyone around me?
Why did no one tell me?
...what am I supposed to do with this information?
( Seriously, what the fuck do I do here? )

The day we reached the end of my story with Steve... I cried.
( It was the strangest feeling, but it was oddly cathartic. )

Buried Truths [Transformation, 4/x]
Jun. 10th, 2021 05:52 amI didn't know where to start. I wasn't sure I could. Why it needed to be done made sense, but I... couldn't.
( Doing what I needed to for myself should have been so easy at that point, but it was everything but. )

Moving On [Transformation - 1/X]
Mar. 23rd, 2021 08:31 amStarting over, retracing steps from the very beginning, was becoming habit. But this particular first step...
I was angry at myself for having to be here again.
( It was an uncomfortable silence we sat in. )

What Violence May Bring [Tagging Thor]
Jan. 26th, 2021 08:51 pmComing down from a conversation that broke her heart and a fight that was unsatisfying in so many ways was never going to be easy for Amelia. Even a celebratory night away with friends wasn't enough to settle her frustration, anger, grief, and unease. Nothing was ever going to be enough, but she did her best to let go of the violence.
And failed, but paying jobs in the Underbelly requiring violence were simply a convenience every few days when she couldn't quiet her mind enough to sit still.
She avoided the Yule celebration in Asvera a few days after the Dawning party to keep her feelings from bringing down the event, but as the days after stretched into weeks, Amelia realized she needed to go back to the small town on the sea. Her heart was conflicted about the idea; Could she really spend time on Steve's world, even if her favorite corner of it was a place far removed from anything that reminded her of her friend? Was she ready to face Thor and ask him about Steve? It was likely they'd met at the party, but how much would he know about what was going on with the man who... used to be like family to her? Was he as shocked as she was? Did Blaze manipulate him and those around him to obtain Steve's body? She needed to know, if only to help her through this.
It gnawed at her stomach in the most uncomfortable way, and nothing she did eased the way it sat in her body like poison. Nothing alleviated the feeling and that somehow made it worse. So, one unremarkable day, when her fingers itched to take up her blades only a day after her last foray into violence for profit, she picked up her phone instead.
Their most difficult conversations seem to begin with text messages, so of course she starts this one the same way.
Thor, I need to speak with you as soon as possible. Where can I meet you?
Avoiding this conversation isn't an option Amelia can afford. If Thor tells her no, she'll likely drop it and continue on without ever facing it directly. She doesn't want this, but the two of them have been through too much together for her to not give it a chance. Should he brush her off, she'll drop it. She'll make do with the information she has and continue on. It will be fine because she will make it be fine.
She sets down her phone, exhales a breath as she feels her heart drop into her stomach and the frustration call a dull heat to her hands. Dreams, she doesn't know what she wants more - for Thor to invite her over or for him to decline - but she's not sure how long she's willing to wait for a reply.
